St. Scholastica will host several events during the month of November in recognition of National American Indian Heritage Month. The College鈥檚 Native Studies Center, Office of Equity, Diversity and Inclusion, and Native American Student Alliance have also collaborated to create a resource guide with media and other opportunities for advocacy here: .

Dr. Amy Bergstrom serves as the College鈥檚 chief diversity officer. She hopes the month鈥檚 programming will engage students, faculty and staff in the rich history of Indigenous peoples while also celebrating the contributions of First Nations and Indigenous communities.

鈥淢innesota is home to eleven federally recognized Indigenous nations,鈥 Bergstrom said. 鈥淭hese events and discussions are meaningful not only because of our campus鈥 geographic positioning but also because they allow us to carve out intentional time for reflection and celebration.鈥

On-campus events include a lesson in beading, an interactive discussion on the history of LaCrosse, a Reservation Dogs watch party and more. Members of the public are invited to participate in the College鈥檚 National American Indian Heritage Month events. The full schedule of events can be found at .
