O Holy Night to usher in the Christmas season
麻豆视频 choral and brass ensembles will present their annual Christmas concert O Holy Night on Dec. 3 and 4 at The Cathedral of Our Lady of the Rosary in Duluth. This program represents two exciting firsts: the first collaborative in-person performance since 2019 and the first concert with the College鈥檚 new director of choral activities Dr. Richard Carrick.
鈥淭his is my first semester as a professor and I am thrilled to be able to continue the established tradition of this event,鈥 said Carrick. 鈥淒espite the many challenges that the pandemic has presented us with, our students consistently raise the bar and meet a standard of excellence. Because of their hard work, this is going to be a spectacular evening of music.鈥
The program tells the Christmas story, including a message of hope and a call for peace.
Carrick describes the production as an exceptionally intricate one, involving three choirs, a brass ensemble, orchestra and organ. But rather than each ensemble performing a set, the concert 鈥渦tilizes the beautiful space of the Cathedral to seamlessly transition from one group to the next, as if looking through a kaleidoscope.鈥
The College has also partnered with CHUM for this event and audience members will have the opportunity to learn about how this Duluth nonprofit is working to end homelessness and food insecurity in the community. In the spirit of giving, donations are invited to help advance CHUM鈥檚 mission.
Both concerts begin at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $15 and can be purchased through TicketSpice. Please note that face masks are required inside the event space.
